To become better at something, you joined Toastmasters. You are becoming better and you shall continue to do as well. In this journey of becoming better, you need the milestones or the glimpse of how your destination may look like. Contests in Toastmasters is a milestone or the glimpse you wanted. Some of the best speakers will compete on Saturday, April 21, 2012 to showcase you what becoming better means to them. Each of them is going through a rigorous filtering process by competing in Club and Area level contests.
Passion for speaking, passion for spreading their belief, passion to tell their experience is what is driving them. Division L Annual Meet at Hotel Royal Orchid, Old Airport Road is the final Indian destination for these brave women and men to prove to the District 82 and Toastmasters International that their belief can change the way we think, we act, or we see. But there lies a roadblock. Roadblock that can be crossed by just one – the winner. Only the one who is able to get their passion meet the precision will go to the District finals in Colombo. It is not easy. The road to District is not only difficult but also treacherous.
This is as real as it gets. Imagine yourself standing on one side of the bridge. Only 1 out of 10 will be able to reach the other side of the bridge. Would you risk yourself knowing that there is 90% chance that you will not be able to reach the other side of the bridge ? Will you ? Really , think about it.
Such is the importance for our contestants of International Prepared Speech Contest and Table topic Contest.
As they prepare for the “winner takes all” battle, the least we can do is to motivate them by applauding their blistering performances at the Division L Annual meet. The sound of our applause will get the best out of them and cater to our DESIRE of knowing the “glimpse of destination”. Lets watch the epic battle where “Passion meets precision”
