Welcome to District 82 South

Fellow Toastmasters,

Happy New (Toastmaster) Year!

Our District has completed a stupendously successful year by breaking all previous records in terms of educational awards, membership growth and club building. This was possible because of its dynamic leadership and ever enthusiastic members!

We are now ready to welcome the new term beginning 1 July 2010. The newly elected leaders are raring to go and eager to begin their work with excitement and joy!

From the fledgling steps we took in 2006, we have come a long way.

  • We involved and evolved

  • We danced on the rainbow

  • We built bridges

Now is the time to achieve greatness together.

A lot of study has gone into the ingredients of success and greatness. Biographers have tried to analyze the blueprint of greatness by studying the lives and times of great people.

  •  Mahatma Gandhi was bold, devoted and lived by example.

  • Mother Theresa was compassionate, selfless and perseverant.

  • Andrew Carnegie was focused, followed his heart, and networked at every opportunity.

In my opinion, the ingredients provide good insight but they are merely guideposts. Despite being shaped by many role models in real life, I believe the mould of the Self will always be different.

Each one of us has a blueprint of greatness which is unique!

Being ourselves, in a world that is continuously trying to make us be like everybody else is a big challenge.

We need to discover and be what our core dictates.  When we discover our core and lead our lives guided by our core, ours will be a story that somebody else will read or quote!

Toastmasters is a wonderful forum to discover our authentic identities. By presenting speeches true to our innermost beliefs, by listening to the honest feedback from our fellow toastmasters, by thinking deeply about what we stand for – we unravel the gifts hidden inside us.

  • Have you found your source-code?

  • Have you opened your treasure chest? Or,

  • Are you waiting with a hope that some day, your life will really take off?

Friends, Life is not a dress rehearsal, it’s the real thing. So let us get into the act. Let us write our own scripts and live it. Aren’t we fortunate to have toastmasters as a platform to experiment? This is the place - to articulate our thoughts and express our feelings; to discover our true strengths and core values; to rehearse so that we are ready for the real world.

Build on your strengths! Stay true to your core values! That is the path towards greatness!

Toastmasters, let us help each other discover our true selves!

Let us achieve greatness together!

With warm regards,

Nagaraja
