District 82 Web Award Contest

purpose

District 82 recognizes the importance of Club websites in promoting the club, it's activities and accomplishments. It recognizes that a majority of new members come to Toastmasters through the internet, and that a great website can be a real asset to a club. It also knows that club webmasters are under-appreciated, and we would like to recognize them for their efforts.

The District would like to establish an annual award to formally recognize and acknowledge the hard work and dedication that each webmaster has put into constructing their websites using their own brand of style, creativity and content.

It is to these sites that we owe our thanks and to their Webmasters and Designers who obviously spend a lot of time building and creating their sites, not just to benefit themselves, but to also make a positive contribution to their Club and to the District at large.

who may enter

The District 82 Web Award Competition is open to all Clubs in District 82. Web sites entered must be on line until May 20, 2010, to be eligible for this award.

The person submitting the entry will be considered the "nominator" and will receive all communications regarding the District 82 Web Award Competition. All changes to an entry can only be made by the nominator or by the designated backup named in the entry.

how to enter

Simply send the link to your club website to the D82 webmaster (Frank Storey, DTM) by May 11, 2010, 11:59 PM.

judges' access to entry

The District 82 Web Award will be judged by a panel of judges of not less than four judges and a Chief Judge. Judges will be evaluating entries during the period of May 1 - May 20, 2010. If your site is password protected, please make sure the site is accessible to the judges during that time period.  In the event that a judge cannot access a site to evaluate it, we will make every effort to contact the nominator by email and ask for the site to be checked. If the judges are unable to review the site in a timely manner, the D82 Web Award judges reserve the right to disqualify the site from the competition.

deadline

All websites must be fully operational prior to and during the evaluation period (May 1  - May 20, 2010).

our judges and their decisions

Judges will include from District 82, from outside District 82 and your D82 Webmaster and any other person deemed qualified to take part. Judges' decisions are final and cannot be appealed.
