Div A first club officer training for the toastmaster year was a resounding success where all 18 clubs in the Division ensuring at least four officers attending the club officer training. There were all together 93 club officers and 8 potential officers who had the opportunity of getting themselves trained. The training was conducted on three occasions on 18th July 2009 (Div A ) at Nations Trust Bank Auditorium on 25th July 2009 (Div H) at BCIS Auditorium and on 13th August at Hilton to facilitate club officers who could not attend previous training. 

A cocktail for Media and Press personal was held on 3rd August 2009 at Colombo Swimming Club with the objective of developing a good working relationship with media and press as well as thanking them for all the support given by them over the years for toastmasters . This was a joint program organized by both Div A and Div H and 18 media and press personal representing Rupavahini, Derana, ETV, Daily mirror, Leader, Daily news, Sunday times, Divaena, Veerakasari and Hi magazine attended the program. Toastmasters Arunasalam Balraj, Niranjan De Zoysa addressed the forum while 16 toastmasters were present to grace the occation. The event was organized by Div A - PRO Wayomi Gunathileke.
