This is football season and everyone is glued to the television screens but me! I have eyes only for the reports on the Toastmasters International website!

The end of the year is fast approaching. We are exactly a fortnight away from 30th June 2010 and it is time for introspection. Have we achieved all that we had set out to accomplish this year? Are we satisfied with what we have achieved? Is there a little bit more that could be done?

If you know that there is that little extra to be done, do not lose heart for you have all of 336 hours available to achieve it. This is the time to stretch so that your club, area or division can be distinguished or better! 

I am proud of the 85 clubs that have already become distinguished and of the 20 clubs that have scored a perfect 10! I am proud of the 29 areas that have become distinguished or better! I am proud of the 6 divisions that have become President's Distinguished! But I know that the rest of you can do it too; you can achieve by just stretching a bit so that you make me proud of you!

What can you do this fortnight? Help your members with extra speaking slots so that they can complete their education awards. Ensure that you follow up with that guest who has been visiting the club for the last month but has not joined yet. Renew a member of the club whose dues are still awaited. Start a new Toastmasters Club and serve as a sponsor or mentor for it! There's this and much more you can do if you want to stretch. If you want help, you know you can always rely on your district officers; they are just one call away! 

Let's stretch and score that winning goal which will help you and District 82 stay ahead! Let us build a bridge with a strong foundation as we leave a legacy for the future.
