To All Toastmasters:
We have reached the half-way mark of the year! It is time to take stock of where we have reached in terms of our goals and what we need to do so that when the year end arrives, we are sure to have accomplished all that we had set out to do on 1st July 2009.
Toastmasters International (TI) measures success of a District on the following parameters – growth of the district in terms of clubs and member payments, and educational awards (Competent Communication, Advanced Communication and Leadership Awards) received by our members. These are not very different from what defines a club’s success under the Distinguished Club Program. I am happy that we are on course to achieve another year of success both in terms of club and district goals. I am grateful to all our district and club officers who have kept the momentum going with zeal and passion.
New Clubs
The District now has 207 active clubs in its fold. We started the year with 161 and have added 46 new clubs already this year making us the fastest growing District any where in the world! I welcome all the new clubs and their members and wish them a fruitful and satisfying experience with Toastmasters.
DCP & Educational Awards
40 of our clubs have already achieved five or more goals in the Distinguished Club Program with 13 of them having achieved nine goals within a period of six months, which is also a record for any District. I congratulate our Club Leaders for their dedication and commitment to have remained focused on their goals. Our members have earned an aggregate of 351 awards this year up to 15 January 2010. 142 CCs, 54 ACs, 152 Leadership Awards and 3 DTM Awards have made the District proud! I wish these Toastmasters success as they chart their course towards greater accomplishments.
These past six months I have visited all the divisions of our district and have had some unforgettable and enriching experiences. The success stories I have heard make me proud to be a Toastmaster! I know that members across the district are committed to the task of developing themselves. I request them to take full advantage of the Toastmasters program which is geared to offer them untold benefits. Our club officers are the bridges that help them traverse this path. The district officers have pledged to support you and to make this journey enjoyable and exciting!
We need feedback!
Are we fulfilling the promises we had made when you elected us to district office? Are you satisfied with the service you have received? What more can we do for you? Please do write to me to let me know so that we can be responsive to your needs. In true Toastmasters fashion, we also need feedback from you so that we can serve you better. I look forward to hearing from each one of you.
I wish you progress and prosperity, health and happiness in the New Year!
